Jorge Carlos de Almeida Fonseca, President of the Republic of Cabo Verde since 2011, is a politician, lawyer, and university professor. President Fonseca will host the session “Conversation with Presidents”.
H.E. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, will offer a keynote address at the AIS Summit in Cabo Verde to be held on February 4th to 6th, 2014 and will join in the session “Conversation with Presidents”. Last year Rwanda hosted a Transform Africa Summit that focused on ICT innovation. You will hear from the President of Rwanda on his country’s experience and innovative changes that have impacted on securing the legacy for future generations.
Joaquim Chissano is the former President of Mozambique and the 2007 Mo Ibrahim African Leadership Prize. He is a respected statesman who played a major role in Mozambique’s independence from colonial rule, and in his country’s socio-economic growth and political reform; he now holds a continuing role as peace broker in Africa.
Andrew Mwenda is a Ugandan journalist, founder and owner of The Independent, Uganda's premier current affairs news magazine. He has produced documentaries and commentary for the BBC on the dangers of aid and debt relief to Africa, and consulted for the World Bank and Transparency International.
